Just a few thoughts

Some of these verses are talking to Elders and to young men but I can take SOOOO much out of them. Especailly as a wife and a mommy. I wanted to share them with you all and open my heart with you where God is really trying to change me lately, Boy do I have a long way to go.

This first verse is one that I just keep running through my head since I saw it on our church board on Sunday. Little does Maryanne know how much this verse would affect little old me this week. I am always trying so hard to better myself, my apperance, my home, my kiddos(even my hubby at times) but most of the time I miss the most important thing of all...my spiritual self. This should be my first area...ALWAYS. But yet, I struggle with making it my number one priority so much.

I hope these verses enrich you today as they have me.
Proverbs 31:30 " Charm is decietful, beauty is vain, but the woman who fears the Lord is to be praised."

1 Peter 5: 3-11
3 Don't act as if you were a ruler over those who are under your care. Instead, be examples to the flock. 4 The Chief Shepherd will come again. Then you will receive the crown of glory. It is a crown that will never fade away.
5 Young men, follow the lead of those who are older. All of you, put on a spirit that is free of pride toward each other as if it were your clothes. Scripture says, "God opposes those who are proud. But he gives grace to those who are not." —(Proverbs 3:34) 6 So don't be proud. Put yourselves under God's mighty hand. Then he will honor you at the right time. 7 Turn all your worries over to him. He cares about you.
8 Control yourselves. Be on your guard. Your enemy the devil is like a roaring lion. He prowls around looking for someone to chew up and swallow. 9 Stand up to him. Stand firm in what you believe. All over the world you know that your brothers and sisters are going through the same kind of suffering.
10 God always gives you all the grace you need. So you will only have to suffer for a little while. Then God himself will build you up again. He will make you strong and steady. And he has chosen you to share in his eternal glory because you belong to Christ.
11 Give him the power for ever and ever. Amen.

Praise! I soooooooo needed this scripture right now! Thanks to you and to our Lord! It's been busy but not too much that we can't handle with our God! I love you Krista this was a blessing to me! Kiss the babies for me and don't let Pey get moving too much that means they are growing too fast!

Amen! Thanks for that, I've been reading 1 Peter a lot lately, it's been very encouraging. I know I also have trouble making my spiritual self a priority and instead try to make the me(and the family) I present to the world look good. That's not what it's about...thanks for the reminder.
